Wi-Fi Access Point
The SSID for both 2.4 and 5 GHz may be changed to your preference. They can be changed to be the same SSID for both or they can be changed to each having a unique SSID. You can change these via the Wi-Fi Access Point screen.
You are permitted to disable either 2.4 or 5 GHz operations, however not both. One is required for Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Explorer I Router supports the following security methods.
OPEN, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.
Yes. For each of the Wi-Fi Access Points, 2.4 or 5 GHz, you change the password to your needs. The password can be changed to be same for both or unique for 2.4 and 5 GHz.
The channels supported by the Wi-Fi Access Point vary for 2.4 or 5 GHz.
2.4GHz Channels: Auto, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
5 GHz Channels: Auto,
36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161, 165
The modes of operation supported by the Wi-Fi Access Point differ for 2.4 or 5 GHz.
2.4GHz Modes: 802.11n, Mixed 802.11b/g/n, Mixed 802.11g/n
5 GHz Modes: 802.11n, Mixed 802.11a/n/ac
The Explorer I Router supports adjusting the bandwidth for each of the Wi-Fi Access Points.
2.4 GHz Bandwidth: 20 MHz, 40 MHz
5 GHz Bandwidth: 20 MHz, 40 MHz, 80 MHz
For each of the Wi-Fi Access Points, you may adjust the power level.
2.4 GHz Power Level: High, Medium, Low
5 GHz Power Level: High, Medium, Low
Yes. This may be performed via the Wi-Fi Access Point screen. At the bottom of this screen, there is a tappable option to Reset All Settings for the Wi-Fi Access Points only.
Once you have tapped the SAVE button at the bottom of the Wi-Fi Access Point settings screen, these saved changes need to be applied. Tap the back arrow button on the Wi-Fi Access Point settings screen after you have tapped the SAVE button and you will be instructed that changes are found on your router and if you wish to apply the changes to your router. Here, you must tap YES, and your router will reboot with your new settings applied.
