Cellular
In the US we support Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.
In Canada we support Bell, Rogers, and Telus.
Other third party MNO Cellular carriers may also be used.
Our routers are designed to operate with both supported 3G and 4G LTE networks.
The Explorer I Router needs constant connectivity for access to the Internet. The router can work on either a cellular connection or fall back to an external Wi-Fi connection if available. In remote locations without cellular or Wi-Fi as WAN coverage, Internet connectivity is not possible.
While it is possible, it is recommended the router has its own dedicated Data SIM card.
Cellular operations can be disabled via the WAN->Cellular screen. Simply tap the slider to enable or disable Cellular Operation.
You may view the SIM Card ID from the Status->WAN Cellular screen.
This may be performed from the WAN->Cellular screen. First, you must select your carrier manually, then under the APN field, you may enter the APN that is required by your cellular carrier.
The Explorer I Router does support use of credentials, including Username and/or Password. This may be performed from the WAN->Cellular screen. First, you must select your carrier manually, then under the APN field you may enter the APN that is required by your cellular carrier if required, while under Advanced Settings you may enter the Username and/or Password.
Yes. This may be performed from the Status->WAN Cellular screen. This screen provides all the details regarding your Cellular operations.
The SIM Card should be inserted into the Router prior to applying power. If the Router is already powered on, it is recommended that you insert the SIM Card and restart your Router immediately for proper cellular operations.
It is recommended that the SIM Card should never be removed from the router once it is powered on. If, however, the SIM Card is removed while powered on, simply reinsert the SIM Card properly and restart the router.
